The importance of women\u2019s role in the world of work is now a widely acknowledged fact. Numerous studies show that female participation has a significant impact on development and growth, not only in the professional sphere, but also across economic, financial and social domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overcoming stereotypes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Italy, the legal framework guarantees substantial legal equality in access to and participation in the workforce, with increasing efforts to eliminate gender discrimination and adopt stronger protections. However, not all sectors are equally open to women, and legislation alone is insufficient to guarantee real equal opportunities and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the workplace, particularly in traditionally men-dominated fields like the manufacturing sector, being a woman is often seen as a \u2018discordant note\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outdated belief that the \u2018fairer sex\u2019 is unsuited for physically demanding work persists, and even less common is the notion that a woman could hold leadership roles, such as running a factory.<\/p>\n\n\n
