What is Spot Welding?
Spot welding (or electric resistance spot welding) involves joining two metal wire components by heating the metal at the contact surfaces.
A high-amperage electric current (up to 15,000 A) is passed through the materials for a very short duration—just fractions of a second—causing the metal (typically low-carbon steel, stainless steel, or iron) to heat up near its melting point. As metal cools, it solidifies, effectively welding the two pieces together.
